Multi-entity reporting with NetSuite: building a reliable group view
Define scope, account mappings, currency and intercompany transactions before comparing results across entities using NetSuite data.

Putting several entities in one dashboard does not make their figures comparable. A useful group view based on NetSuite data needs agreed reporting boundaries and clear transformation rules.
Start with the scope
Identify the entities, periods and activities included. Decide whether you need an aggregated management view or consolidation with eliminations and specific accounting criteria. These are different outputs, and the report should make that distinction clear.
Build a common account map
Each entity may have its own detail, but leadership needs comparable categories. Document which accounts feed revenue, costs and margin lines. Check unmapped balances before comparing entities.
Agree currency and exchange rates
For multiple currencies, define the reporting currency and conversion rules. Do not mix original and converted amounts or automatically attribute exchange movements to business performance. The finance team should validate the criteria.
Review intercompany transactions
Sales, purchases, loans and balances between entities can distort the group view. Identify counterparties and document required adjustments. Reliable eliminations depend on the recorded information; missing data should be flagged rather than silently assumed away.
Present the group and detail together
Leadership needs the overall picture and the ability to investigate a variance by entity or available dimension. Complement the P&L with cash, working capital and explanations of major changes. Assign owners to actions, not just report preparation.
Connected reporting with agreed criteria
Quickbidata supports a subsidiary reporting view with a model configured during implementation, read-only access and data refreshed every two hours or on demand. Accounting and consolidation criteria still require validation by the responsible team.
